What we store

During early access, your profile, readiness answers, tracker and drafts are stored in your browser's local storage on your device. An account is optional. Without one, we do not receive this data, except as below.

Drafting and the Assistant

When you ask for a draft or send a message to the Assistant, the text you submit (your questions, facts and a short profile summary) is sent to our server and processed by an AI model hosted by our cloud provider to produce the reply. We do not store this text in a database. Standard server logs (such as IP address and time) may be kept briefly for security and rate limiting.

GrantPilot copilot and voice

Your copilot chat, the business facts you confirm, your documents, calendar and vault files stay on your device. When you send a message, ask for a document or practise a pitch, the text and a short summary of your confirmed facts are sent to our server and processed by an AI model hosted by our cloud provider; we do not store the text. If you use the microphone, the recording is sent once to be turned into text and is not stored; if you ask GrantPilot to speak, the reply text is turned into audio, and a copy of that audio (not linked to you) may be cached to save cost. We keep only anonymous daily counts to share the free allowance fairly. Files in your vault are never uploaded.

Tester feedback

If you fill in the tester feedback form, your answers, the page you came from and the time are saved on our server so the GrantPilot Africa team can read them. Your name and WhatsApp number or email are saved only if you type them, and only to follow up on your answers. We keep a scrambled code of your device and network to stop spam; it cannot be turned back into your address. Ask us and we will delete your feedback.

Your choices

You can export or delete everything on the My profile and data page. Clearing your browser data also deletes it.

Optional GrantPilot Africa account

You never need an account to use the site. You can make a free account only if you want to save your plan online and use it on another phone, get email reminders, or pay for Pro (the one feature that needs an account, so a Pro purchase can be restored when you sign in on another device). If you make one, we store your email, your first name if you give it, a salted hash of your password (never the password itself), and, only when you press Save online and after you agree, your profile, saved opportunities, calendar dates and drafts. Files in your vault are never uploaded. Payments, when switched on, are handled by our payment provider; we keep the plan, amount and status, never card details. You can delete your account and everything stored with it at any time from the GrantPilot page.

If you make a read-only link for a helper, we store that snapshot for the link; it stops working when it expires or when you revoke it. If you ask for an expert review, we store your email and the text you send so a reviewer can reply.

Deadline alerts (optional)

If you turn on deadline reminders (for example with a Remind me button), we store only what is needed to send them: your email address (for email alerts) or the address your browser gives us for phone notifications, the country, sector and funding type you chose (if any), and the IDs of the opportunities you saved or asked to be reminded about. No account is needed. We use it only to send reminders 7 days, 2 days and 1 day before those deadlines, a note if an admin-checked change moves one of those dates, and, if you turned on alerts from the prompt, a weekly note of new matches. Every message has an unsubscribe link, and you can turn alerts off at any time on the Deadline alerts Tester feedback page; unsubscribing deletes your email address and saved IDs from our list. Emails are sent through an email delivery provider and phone alerts through your browser's push service.

Tester waitlist (optional)

If you join the tester waitlist, we store the details you type in the form: your name, email, WhatsApp number, business name, sector, state and country, the optional answers you give, and the time you agreed to be contacted. The GrantPilot Africa team uses them only to contact you about testing the platform, by WhatsApp or email, and to choose testers. We do not sell or share them. To be removed from the list, reply "stop" to any message from us and we will delete your details.

A contact address will be added before launch.
